What’s the (accessibility) score?
Imagine watching Footy,
but there are no scoring rules, so there aren’t any winners.
There isn’t even a need for a scoreboard.
Would you watch?
Imagine buying groceries but there are no labeling rules, so ingredients or nutrition values aren’t listed.
How would you comparison shop to make better health choices?
Imagine searching for an App to use on your phone, but there are no user reviews to go on. They don’t exist.
Is it going to be worth the money to purchase the App?
Imagine you want to buy a washing machine for your parents and you know one has failing vision, and the other has failing hearing. There’s no information on whether it works for people who have different limitations. That information isn’t posted anywhere. There’s not even a rating for overall accessibility. *
How would you shop for mum and dad?
* We know you know which one is the odd one out here. But who is going to change the status quo?
Together, we will introduce standardised accessibility scoring.
Websites; Apps; Enterprise Software; Electronic Documents; Consumer technology products for the home. Even the watch on your wrist.
They all deserve an accessibility score.
Scores enable customers to identify the winners.
We hosted a free Webinar on March 7, 2023
In the Webinar we introduced the work of our new nonprofit member organisation. We are based in the US, and we have a global outlook, and a global membership base.
Our sincere thanks to our co-host for this webinar, and one of our founding member organisations, AccessibilityOz.
